a stake in the ground…

Published on August 20th, 2014

I’m excited about the future of ValleyPoint Church and our pursuit of a “real home.” The stakes are in the ground and from my office I can see where our future home will be. I’ve even had fun walking around amongst the stakes dreaming about how ValleyPoint will get the opportunity to welcome many with

Love Works!

Love works…well. That seems like a disputable statement. Often those who attempt to compassionately love and place the needs of others first are quickly trampled, disregarded as irrelevant, and seen as soft. It seems that survival in a modern world takes toughness, strength, and a sharp focus on my interests. Or, does it? What if

This group…

For the past eight months, I have worked with an advisory group. I must say, this group has been amazing! I enjoyed every meeting and found myself being helped with their insight, perspective, and astute assessments. They advised me on strategy, sermon preparation, and systems that have helped and continue to help make ValleyPoint Church

real home @ ValleyPoint Church

Published on February 4th, 2014

On Sunday, February 2nd, we  began our exciting journey toward  a “Real Home!” I believe our gatherings over the next several weeks are going to be some of the most memorable times in our forty-two year existence. From the front door, to the lobby, to the kids’ environments, to the auditorium, “Real Home” is everywhere.

I’ve been amazed this week at watching people give of themselves to serve others.  It’s such a beautiful thing to see when it happens in such unselfish ways.  I’ve watched as several gave multiple hours of their time, energy, and creativity to create an experience in our community where kids can have a great time.

Go ValleyPoint! I’m super proud of the 31 people leaving from our faith community to serve and love others in Guatemala.  Amazing.  Many of you are giving up spring break time.  Many of you are giving up time with family.  Many of you are stepping out of your boundaries of contentment for the very first

Midweek Moment

This is a new “thing” from ValleyPoint. Listen to this 80 second clip from our Sunday gathering on November 4, 2012. It’s a midweek moment of inspiration and hope!

Genesis 21:17

Published on October 30th, 2012

The very first part of this verse is incredibly powerful.  “God heard the boy crying…”  This was a boy who had been sent away, abandoned, and left for dead.  His chances for survival were slim.  God changes everything though.  He heard the boy crying.  Those words are stunning.  The word heard has the idea of

Happy Birthday ValleyPoint!

On October 17th, ValleyPoint Church turned 41!  Happy Birthday ValleyPoint.  I can genuinely say, I love this church.  Love. Love. Love. I love how God is using us to point people to real relationships.  I love how God is using us to do significant things.  I love how God is using us to make a
