The Cell

Published on May 30th, 2012

We all cart burdens that we were never designed to carry.  Often we allow these burdens to weigh us down.  They make us weary, powerless and isolated.  When these burdens are not released, they lead us to a prison cell of darkness.  And God doesn’t want us to live that kind of life!  He’s created us to live life on purpose.  He’s created us to live with eyes wide open ready to embrace every challenge.  He’s created us to live and breathe with passion.

Jesus even said, “I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.”  John 10:10

That sounds great!  Unfortunately, we often choose to walk away from that promise.  And we choose to get trapped, captured and shut-in to “The Cell.”   And “The Cell” becomes the new normal.  It becomes home.  And here’s what happens…the suffocating presence of this new home crushes our dreams and throws us into misery.  It’s a place that’s hard to leave.  It’s also a place we can’t leave on our own.  We need a shepherd.   And here’s the good news…THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD.   He’s my shepherd.  And He invites us out of “The Cell.”

Join ValleyPoint as we use the ancient words of the twenty-third Psalm to escape “The Cell.”  We’ll take a look at some of the most famous words ever penned.  Words that inspire.  Words that encourage.  Words that comfort.  Words that lead us out of “The Cell.”
